For Valor generation.

A mage wand with minor heal and the paladins cloak might do the job.  You get a free point of healing and if you get 4 or more on your target you get a valor.  Since your not using the paladins sword.  Also you do not have Smite which given your valor generation could be an issue but if you use your challenge right with guards you can farm valor that way to.  Hmm.  I'll msg you an idea that just came to mind.

1) Trample is not a melee attack (I don't know WHY for the life of me they used the melee attack symbol :P).
2) A defense can be used against it (as long as that defense is able to be used against melee attacks..go figure)
3) A trample attack cannot be buffed in anyway.
4) Each trample attack can only be used once per round.
5) Trample attacks must respect guards.

Someone get this man a banana sticky :D

One thing about the druid I am picking up on regarding his ring for spell discounts is you have to hard cast the plants.  To really get advantage with it you have to hardcast your summons or conjurations, but most are around the 7 to 6 mana range so you can grow a garden pretty quickly if you manage your mana right.

Is Trample treated like a normal melee attack?  Can it be dodge or improved by any buffs?

I will say this. Do not underestimate tanglevine. Much less force hold. A tanglevine will guarentee a single reaction probably 2 even from that many dice. Even as a pet it only rolls 6 dice against that vine and if you have to attack it twice it was already worth it.  They are mean for sure but they are slow and can't trample and attack without becoming fast.

Force Hold is a lvl 1 spell > Dispel Wand

The Elephant if Pet and I am in zone Rolls 5 + 2 (Conjuration) + 2 Pet.  9 Dice  Not a sure thing, but...

Emerald Elk Stave is to swap out for the Dispel Wand so it (Dispel Wand) cannot be dissolved.

It can still be dissolved. To prevent that you would be better with nullify. A clever player will plan timing to take your wand from you, for example as a final quick cast without initiative or a first quick cast with initiative. If it is that important then maybe a spare copy in the book would serve you better, rather than another piece of equipment you do not plan to use?

1 x Emerald Elk Stave is kinda like passive healing in a since it heals outside of actions.  I only have 2 animals so it is a pretty good fit, and I just don't see people spending a dissolve on it. (Passive Healing @Ben)

Plan on doing a lot of your own fighting, which is cool. That being said lose the Staff of Beasts for either a Johktari hunting knife, tge boomerang or the spear. The first two are cheap and easy. The third can tie people down for your elephants.

I actually plan to use the 2 die heal and the +2 melee from the staff.
I have thought about the spear though, but I am gonna try the staff and see if I even use it.

I do not particularly expect the Beastmaster to survive for long with only two creatures.  I would suggest replacing the elephants with rhinos and rams.  I would also suggest the faerie familiar since you have a lot of Enchantments, an Elemental Wand, and a Mage Wand.

That is really not how this book is going to be played.  Rhino's and Ram's don't have the damage output and would require more than 2 hard casts to get online.  Also a lot of the buffs are centered around the two elephants with me supporting them.  Elemental wand and Mage wand don't quite do what I'm looking to do.

I wanted to do a pet build with the giant elephants

Another Variant was an Elephant with a Pet Highland Unicorn.

BeastmasterA Beastmaster Spellbookbuilt by http://www.spellbookbuilder.com

Total cost: 120 pts

Turn 1
Mana Flower  Double Move

Turn 2
Pet Elephant

Turn 3
Advance Guard / Elephant Advance

Turn 4
2nd Elephant

From there double cheetah speeds or what ever enchants I want.  Tangle vines against elephants are not super effective since they hit so hard.  Then just march around crushing enemy creatures as I chase mages.

Emerald Elk Stave is to swap out for the Dispel Wand so it (Dispel Wand) cannot be dissolved.

Spellbook idea I was mulling around with

Johktari BeastmasterA Johktari Beastmaster Spellbookbuilt by http://www.spellbookbuilder.com
Equipment2 x Chitin Armor1 x Colossus Belt1 x Dispel Wand1 x Eagleclaw Boots1 x Elemental Cloak1 x Emerald Elk Stave1 x Enchanter's Ring2 x Hunting Spear1 x Ring of Beasts 1 x Wand of Healing1 x Wispwillow AmuletConjuration1 x Animal Kinship2 x Corrosive Orchid2 x Mana Flower1 x Mohktari, Great Tree of Life1 x Rajan's Fury3 x Tanglevine1 x Tooth&Nail1 x Wall of ThornsCreature1 x Rajah, Jungle's Talon Rajah2 x Spitting Raptor2 x Steelclaw GrizzlyEnchantment2 x Bear Strength1 x Cheetah Speed1 x Falcon Precision1 x Hawkeye2 x Nullify2 x Regrowth2 x Rhino Hide1 x Wolf FuryIncantation1 x Disarm2 x Dispel2 x Dissolve1 x Lesser Teleport3 x Minor Heal1 x Purge Magic1 x Purify1 x Remove Curse1 x Seeking Dispel1 x Shift Enchantment2 x TeleportAttack2 x Acid Ball2 x Force Hammer
Total cost: 120 pts

Starting 19 mana

Turn 1
-3 mana Wispwillow Amulet
Double move towards opponent
-2 mana Ring of Beast

19 - 5
14 mana + 9+1 mana (Wispwillow Amulet)
24 mana

Turn 2
-16 Summon Grizzly (1 less for Ring of Beast)
-2 Any enchant I feel like (I'm thinking my Hawkeye This is the spot for Enchanters Ring)

Turn 3
24 - 18
6 mana + 9+1 mana (Wispwillow Amulet)

-16 Summon Grizzly (1 less for Ring of Beast)

Now I have 2 Grizzly out on turn 4 with 10 mana

Thoughts?

I think 1 or 2 psychic immune creatures would really help this book out.

Why bother worrying about the dispels?  My priority is dissolving your Mage Wand and just swarming your Mage because you do not have enough creatures for me to worry about.  If I am playing a Necromancer, I bring out twelve zombies by turn eight and just eat away your six creatures in a few turns.  If I am playing a Beastmaster, I bring out a couple of Grizzlies with unavoidable and eat your Angels.  I am playing a Forcemaster, I charm or sleep every creature and kill your mage one on one.  Without more creatures spells, the spellbook is fragile and lacks resilience and force.

This is an idea forum why don't you offer constructive advice of what you would do with this book.

Hell, I'll make you an offer I'll play this book as I've suggested against any book you have @Obsidian Soul.

13
Until I saw this book I never though of using the Crown with Armorer so there is a nice take away from this Book Idea regardless of how you view the concept I like it personally.

It just needs playtesting.

Okay this is an attrition setup the way this book is designed.

The way it should work out is your opponent has a choice of what to do with his dispels.

Lets say an average person runs 2 to 3.  Well that is still not going to remove all your Bear Strength then there are the rest of the enchants to deal with.  Healing wise GA heal themselves and have a 8+ dodge along with Aegis 1 to not be hit anyways.  Now you make that 3 Armor GA with self heal and Bear Strength not including other outside healing and they become an issue real fast.  Most things that can attack flying are Squishy so 3 dice or 5 dice is ALOT against them.

This is a bare build working off someone else idea.  I can see some things I would do different, but over all the theory is pretty sound with an entire army flying.

15
I'll pay 5 for Allandel all day.

The angel is iffy cause of such the high mana cost.  7 Dice flying with a daze / stun is interesting though.   All of these creatures flying is a nice feature I'm not sure how it would work out honestly I really like GA's.  I left the Angel in just for flavor I'd have gone with Allendal myself. and 5 armor with 15 HP.
