General Discussion / Re: Mage Wars Podcasts?

Check out the Let's Level Up podcast. They do a "Mage Wars Mondays" series with Arcane Wonders employees. It's definitely worth checking out.

I would definitely be interested in some casual games. I rarely get the chance to play Mage Wars so this sounds like a perfect opportunity to get my fix.

Glad to hear that everyone had a good time. Really wish I could have made it. Hopefully I can make the next one. I haven't had a chance to play Mage Wars since August and it's killing me!

Sorry guys but it doesn't look like I am going to make it this Sunday. Hope I didn't mess up anyone's plans.  With luck I will make it out to the next one.

It looks like The Games Keep, which is an hour away from me, has moved to a new location at

Gay Street Plaza
561 E Gay St
West Chester, PA 19380

The Games Keep has indeed moved to a new and much improved location. The store now has a huge space dedicated to playing games.  The two stores are both about an hour away from me but I would definitely prefer to meet up at The Games Keep to include as many people as possible.  Does this location work for your group rant?

As for dates, I am fairly certain I can make any Sunday in November except for Nov 2nd.

Well, it seems like there is some interest in getting together so hopefully we can make this happen.  Weekends work best for me. I just need a little advance notice so I can reserve the time.

Anyone interested in getting a game night going?  Myself and two others are looking to expand our meta.

Hi rant.  I am definitely interested in getting together to play some Mage Wars but my availability is unfortunately pretty limited right now. I am located in Philadelphia. Roughly where are you and your group located?

I might be able to head down to Savage for this.  I will definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

I'll be at Red Cap's Corner tonight for board game night;  I'll be bringing along some spellbooks in case anyone else wants to stop by and play some MW.

@Kich - I'm looking at possibly being in Lancaster the weekend of the 31st if you think you may be free that Sun.

Wish I could make it there tonight. Unfortunately life is not going to allow it.

Please let me know if there are any other times you can get together. I would love to meet up somewhere and play!

Hello Tom.
Please let me know when your next tournament is going to be.  I would like to go this time (last time was ill-timed on my part and the weather was uncooperative).

Will do Poppa Bear! Life is a little busy right now, but I am hoping to put something together soon.

This card is fantastic.

Agreed. The Altar of Carnage will be a huge boost for the warlord's arsenal.

Strategy and Tactics / Re: Battle forge and forcemaster
« on: April 11, 2014, 03:26:58 PM »
I find myself using battle forge more and more. There is a lot of good equipment, for any mage really, and it frees up some casting actions. My FM rocks a first turn forge every time.

Where do you put it... NC? Doesn't anything farther away let the opposing mage sit in his start corner without you harassing him? If the BF is in NC, then everyone should be packing a couple of Surging Waves to kill it on turn two.

If your opponent is spending a turn hitting your Battle Forge and not worrying about your Forcemaster I think that puts you in a very good position.  Plus, a pair of Surging Waves costs 10 mana and two actions so the Forcemaster still comes out ahead in terms of mana & actions spent.

I'm sad that I was busy for Table Top day.  I live in the DC area but travel West Chester area often.  Is another event in the works at all?  I would love to play with some new people.

I definitely plan on having another tournament. Hopefully I can put something together for May.

Just the one tournament this year or will there be qualifiers? Also, are there any plans to organize casual playing?
