Well I'v briefly looked through this topic, and enjoy the ideas of all mention so far, here's what I'd like to see without repeating what others have posted on here:

some sort of angel mage - main ability is flying, but has comparatively less mana generation but uses holy magic, also blessings which are enchantments that can only target friendly creatures

a daemon mage - similar to the angel mage but uses dark and fire magic, and have enchantments that target creatures that he can cast through, maybe with the curse type spells that's been floating around (curses could only target enemy creatures)

a sea based mage - sea creatures, would require converting the arena into a sea like terrain (zone at a time, specific spell or set of spells that flood a zone) gives all land creatures -2 combat penalty when in the sea zone, flyers unaffected, sea creatures would recieve a -3 penalty when fighting on land and not a sea zone, sea creatures would have less hit points due to weakish nature being water based life forms, however are cheaper to cast

a ranger - similar to the beast master but less creature intensive and more ranged attacks, maybe a basic ranged attack that gains +1 range to the attack to show their skill, spells would be bows, crossbows, magic arrows/bolts as an enchantment, as well as enchantments as traps etcetera.

I agree as well, everyone that I've introduced to this to is interested in having a demo played with them... I can't wait for my copy ^^ and my local game shop has even been interested in me doing some demo games one night in their store for others that are interested ^^.

I am really looking forward to seeing how far this game can go.

they are all awesome ideas, i love them XD

like you mirror trap - zone traps that trigger the first time a creature or mage moves into that zone.... mirror attack, pit traps, spike traps, teleport trap, healing fountain, etcetera. :)

slow moving spells, that are placed on the board and move one zone per turn and attacks 1, 2 or more in that zone until they collide with a wall or board edge

supreme epic spells that target all on the board or all within 1 or 2 zones, etcetera.

spells that turn zones into deep areas of water for sea creatures

continuous effects on the board

and finally i agree there's absolutely loads of good ideas that id love to see worked into the game somehow ^^

Ideas that I've had are maybe a simple maze layout to the arena, and project the entire board onto a big screen - yes it'l take a lot longer than a conventional game, but I find it interesting to try.....if I can ever get my copy of the game XD

and maybe have a league points system as you score a number of points equal to the spellbook cost of remaining spells you have at the point of winning a game

so what do people think then?

Not yet, but i'm also interested in a UK supplier, iv asked at my local store and they are interested in what the requirements are for purchasing the game.

Such as how many per purchase, are there any posters or banners that must be purchased at the same time etcetera.

I'll let you know if I find anything, also i'm from the south so don't know how helpful it would be for you XD.

How about spells or equipment that effect equipment. Like a scope for a crossbow...

Prismatic effects that can randomly change the damage, like fire ball into lightling ball.

Things that disrupt or cause mages to take care of before they can do a normal action. like a leprechaun pot of gold that invokes a mages greed and he must grab it, or dispel the effect, before he can continue his assault.

camouflage or some sort of invisibility or hiding spells...

the charged field zone attack defence, equipment for equipment, random attack, potions, disruption and camouflage are my chosen from your list acrazy1 XD.

I particularly like the equipment for equipment idea

like your crossbow scope,
different types of bolt for the crossbow (similar for arrows for a bow),
a better grip for swords,
new axe heads to do different damage,
or enchantments that target only equipment,
make the item indestructible to give the wielder a 11+ defence

sooo many possibilities

Or could choose to become a clone of a creature that has defeated in battle? Eats the unfortunate and gains their soul and form maybe,

as for the shapeshifter wondering if that could become a mage, though the gameplay for that would be very one dimensionaly......hehehe a wolf cast a lightning bolt XD

General Discussion / Logging in Issues

Just been wondering if anyone has been having any logging in issues either on this site or the Arcane Wonders site. For the Mage War site I need to log in about 3 times before the invalid token for my passphrase gets accepted, whereas on Arcane Wonders I cannot log in after registration, passphrase is an invalid token than has yet to be accepted.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, esspecially for AW site as I want my copy of MW asap to the UK. XD

or maybe a spell that clones a creature for a number of turns

(apologies  if these ideas are either already including the game or other have thought of them, im a UKer so haven't had a chance to get my own game yet)
