Rules Discussion / Triple strike & Reverse attack
« on: November 19, 2012, 10:51:34 AM »
The hydra is attacking my mage, i turn reverse attack and reverse the hall attack(the three strikes) or just the first one. I think is the first option because the additional strikes are part of one whole attack, but want to confirm.

Rules Discussion / Reverse Atack and Defence
« on: November 19, 2012, 10:44:41 AM »
This came up our last game. Creature with reverse attack is attacked. The same creature has a defence. My opponent said that he does not have to use reverse attack if he succeed to escape with defence. I think that this doesn`t matter because the reverse attack trigger is a attack and it`s a must reveal. And the fact that the attack missed does not mean that it never happened. So any opinion here?

You can choose during the counter step to pay only the one, so you will be able to reverse it. I think the both will trigger because thay have the same trigger(need confirmation about this). But for what purpouse you will have the both at the same time on one creature?

General Discussion / Re: Is the Priestess Overpowered?

Interesting.  I've been doing a lot of theorycrafting regarding the Priestess and playing around with build ideas.  Originally I had the Temple of Asyra in and was going that route, but in my first revision I took it out, thinking that it would be too slow.  Seems like maybe I was on point there.  I've got a build that I think will be very good, but I'm not sure yet since I haven't played it.  I looks good "on paper", but that doesn't always go so well in practice.

Looking at what I've come up with, I think it will utterly own the "in your face beat-down" style mage builds and I think it will handle the Wizard heavy offense builds pretty well too, although that will be a bit tougher.  I'm a bit worried about the swarm builds though, although the strategy of focusing on the enemy mage and just trying to survive/delay the swarm seems to work in general.  Of course, that's all on paper as I've said.  I hope to test it soon.

I`ve been thinking of the same build. After my first revision i also took out the Tample of Asyra for the same reason. In the same direction i removed the Clerics. And now i have to try the deck in practice. So interesting to see that other people are also going in this direction with  her. I`ll report when i have chance to try it in the arena.

Great news, can`t wait! Good job AW some of the "big" companies have to learn from you, especially for fan/clients/players feedback use.

I make this analogy, because i think chess i a game that gives you a chance to be creative and to think hard, to find new ways of doing things. Things that MW also encourage. By the way a lot of this principles (like rule the middle ground of the battleground,  make a good connections between your pieces and etc.) are the same like  the "Art of war", because at the end it`s a war :)

"LOGICAL" to the extreme is also one of mine favorite thing  about MW. The second one is feeling of chess game putted inside the game. You can apply a lot of the chess basic principles in MW and they have  meaning in the MW world also.

Why not creating some kind of archives for the old posts, so the new users can find if they are looking for something specific?

Rules Discussion / Re: Counterstrike
« on: October 08, 2012, 12:10:16 PM »
Sometimes for me is easier to imagine the situation like is real and see what is the right answer. So in this case you killed a creature and it`s unable to strike back at you. It`s that simple. That`s what i like in this game it makes sense. I have to say that in situations where a was wandering about something it always was the answer that represent a real massacre between mages  :)

To back up my words:
p.31 Rulebook
The counterstrike attack is resolved like a normal attack,
starting with Step 1: Declare Attack, except that no
additional counterstrikes occur.

So in this situation you don`t have creature to Declare Attack with.

This is my reading of the situation. May be somebody can confirm it.

One more for second spell tome. Also i like the idea for mage specific tomes, but i think they have to come i little bit later after more mages has been released.
