Strategy and Tactics / Evolved Gameplay?
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:03:30 am »
Hello everyone,

I was just looking through the forums today and I see much discussion on the many different build for the different mages. I also notices that all of these discussions have 1 big similarity...........strategy switching. I think the game has evolved into a game of adapting. We adopt our first strategy at the beginning then depending on what the opponent does we react or adapt to a new or reinforced strategy. I like how this is because we have 50% of our deck toward our 1-3 different strategies and the other 50% towards reactions to what your opponent does. It brings in a more advanced thinking and creativity.

I am going up to Minot North Dakota this summer to visit my mother and am wondering if their is any group/people up in that area that play MW. I would only bring my deck and not my entire box/board. Thanks!

Spellbook Design and Construction / Nullify
« on: May 19, 2013, 08:59:06 pm »
Hello everyone  :)

I was looking through my decks today and played a couple games with my father, we realized that in each of our decks we would run nullify.........and so then the games we played just were games about who played nullify when. I did not enjoy the fact that in this game you NEED to run nullify or else you would not be able to do anything useful, because your opponent would just nullify you. So we realized that this card is a staple in every deck but we did not want it to become a nullify game, a game which we would nullify each other until we ran out of nullifies. This part of the game took a lot of time, so we discussed the idea of limiting nullify to a max of 2 in each deck, instead of 6. I just want to put this out there, to see what you guys think and if this idea should be made a rule.

General Discussion / Spellbook and Counters

In a tournament setting, are you requried to use the damage/mana counter and the spellbook provided by the base set? I use regular dice and have my cards arranged in a deck face down in front of me.

Rules Discussion / "OR" Strikes

On the forcemaster's blade, the full action strike attack has ethereal sweeping OR doublestrike. If i choose doublestrike do i lose the ethereal trait. ( The ethereal is on a different line above the "Sweeping OR doublestike")

Rules Discussion / Magebane
« on: March 17, 2013, 02:44:47 pm »
When a Magebane'd opponent casts an enchantment spell face down, does he take damage?  Or wait until it's revealed?  If so, will he take damage from revealed enchantments which were placed face down before magebane was revealed?

Spells / Hail of Stones

Is it a typo or is hail of stones not suppose to have the unavoidable trait when in the rules it says that all zone attacks are unavoidable? Thanks ahead of time.
