This sounds cool, but would be terrible in practice. There are way too many miniatures. A PC game could work, implementing 3d models and 3d conjurations like barracks and that sorta stuff.

General Discussion / Re: Mage Wars Companion App - Feature Requests

Just wanted to ask if the app is still under development. I miss the Paladin and Siren :/

I wouldn't hold my breath for an update to the official app or the official spell book builder / card database.

If you're looking for a functional up-to-date card database and spell book builder, though, I highly recommend http://www.spellbookbuilder.com.

This is a really good -in the meantime- alternative! Thanks for sharing!

Just got the Paladin vs Siren expansion in, my collection is complete again!

Really hope the app&website will be up te date with the new mages SOON!

Edit: Laddinfance, I see it has been over 2 months ago since your last update here. Any news on updates for either the app or website deck builder?

best regards,

Thank you so much for alllllll the hours, the days and weekends playing magewars. I feel bad reading your post.  beeing somewhat impacient for new expansions. I can't imagion how much work it would be to create a new expansion.

All i can say is that you could definatly see these comments as one of the greatest compliments. People enjoy the game so much that that crave new content. They want to keep playing.

i for one am super hyped about the upcoming expansions! And even if there weren't going to be any expansions released, i have seen the future of my gaming closet in 20 years containing a old and almost used up version off magewars. Teaching my daughter the rules  :)

Loving the app, could use some minor tweaks:

- beeing able to see the mage abilities
- sorting cards op type aswell as school
- add a favorite cards tab

great work!

General Discussion / Re: New Expansion ? Is original MW dead?!
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:54:15 AM »
Thank you all for your replies!

I'm really glad to hear their working on a new expansion. I didn't pay much attention to Academy because I like the epicness of the full arena and length and depth of the original game. So when I read it was going to be a sort of "light version" of the game I kind of ignored it and waited for new arena expansions.

What I didn't know is that you can use the cards from Academy in Arena, which sounds very relevent to interest, however, I'm using the spellbook builder/app for a while now, and there is no trace of these cards.

Don't these cards unbalance the game as it is? I like the game so much that it would be a shame if the intire game changed balance because of these cards.

What do you guys think?

General Discussion / New Expansion ? Is original MW dead?!

Hi all,

MW is my favorite board game by far. But lately i've been getting the idea Arcane wonders focus is on Academy for the last 2 years.

I'm yearning for a new expansion. Am I the only one here? Can't seem to find any news or topics about it.

what happened to the illiusionist/shaman etc?  :'(

Best Regards,

as druid you can't add and Fellella, Pixie Familiar to your deck. While the druid is a Nature mage.

Your mage is also a creature, and you are in control of it, as the mage. So this does steal mana.

Good one, my guess would be that it only attacks 1 creature since it says when a creature enters the zone, reveal it and then destroy. It's not a zone attack. Since you push several creatures, you get to decide which one is sucked down to the fires of hell. My interpetation.

Thanks for the reply!

To be absolutely clear for myself and anyone wondering about this:

creature I want to MC is lvl 3 (for example)

- 3x3 = 9 mana to reveal, then upkeep +3 per turn

or should it be, like I thought in the first place:

- 2X(=3) = 23 mana to reveal, then upkeep +3 per turn  ( like X is the 2nd number but it always starts @ 20)

Where did I not look to find this info in the manual? or am I just overcomplicating/misunderstanding? :P

Rules Discussion / 2 questions, magebane & MC cost
« on: May 16, 2013, 04:21:37 AM »
Dear mages, first off, thanks alot for all the info and clarification I have found on this forum!
There were 2 things I did not find however and I wanted to check that I do this right:

1: Magebane, cast on a mage, does this mean that this mage gets 1 direct damage every time when casting all spells from the spellbook including summon creature etc? ( basically everything you do with your mage except attacking, moving and revealing enchantment causes 1damage? )

2: Mana cost of Mind control, 2X it says, this means that reavealing will cost 20/21/22 etc amount of mana?

thanks alot!
