Why ? What's the reason the card pool is restricted and not up to date ?  :o

Allowed cards and mages: German and English cards from all sets released on German until May (as of today: Mage Wars Arena with all expansions up to Forged in Fire, no Battlegrounds, no Academy). Tournament rounds:

We also do it :)
Hidden ones stay on mage, revealed ones are where the equipment is (next to the board).

One also has to admit that such a game attracts some seriously high-level nerds and number-crunchers - they will certainly find sth. Always.  8)

Yea, found the rules section a bit sloppy, too
(No offense AW...awesome game and job - just teasing  8) ;) ;D  plz don't ban )

Don't worry. I don't ban people for honest criticism.

So, in short, yes.  [mwcard=MWSTX2FFQ01]Adramelech's Torment[/mwcard] requires Line of Sight because it specifically says "target creature".

All being MtG players, we had exactly this debate (knowing that in MtG and similar games, there's a world of difference between 'targeting' a creature and say 'choosing' or 'selecting' a creature). However 'Target isn't a keyword ability in the rulebook (even v4).

What I didn't find in the game was the Targeting section on p15 of the full Rules and Codex document, which effectively makes it so (or at least a defined game term) - it's clear there.

Thanks!

I think using mana counters could be used to keep stuff neat and tidy.
You just mark the enchantment/objects by putting counters when cast and during normal game process it doesn't change anything. Just when a dispel happens you can detach and use that to identify stuff.

Check screenshot . Maybe that's an idea ? Not having been in situation where Arcane Ward / Decoy were relevant.

P.S.:
Screenshots quality is very bad sorry....had to resize it because there is a totally annoying 128kb (wtf!) size limit for attachments.

How do we keep track of this?

A creature has 2 face down enchantments. First enchantment has an enchantment on it?!?!?
Will it not look like the creature has 3 enchantments on it? flipping it sideways seems like it will make cluttered zones even more cluttered.

Whats the point with going in this direction in the first place? I cant see how it will improve the game.

"Entering a Zone A creature only “enters” a zone if it moves there using a move action, or is Pushed or Teleported.  Being Summoned or otherwise put into play in that zone does not count as “entering” the zone.  Thus, traps and spells like Mangler Caltrops are not triggered when a creature is Summoned."

Is that secured knowledge ?
Spontaneously, I'd dissent.

It does not.

If it needs a "target" , it needs LOS.

For example, effects like [mwcard=MW1E11]Divine Intervention[/mwcard] or [mwcard=MW1C05]Blue Gremlin[/mwcard] don't need LOS.

General Discussion / Re: New Expansion ? Is original MW dead?!
« on: April 01, 2016, 02:00:00 AM »
I have to admit I really like the slow release pace when it comes to Arena.
Having lots of releases feels discouraging to me because everything changes so quickly - probably one of the main things I lost interest into MTG years ago when they introduced the Type2 format and sped up their releases.

In my opinion a slow pace is good for the game but I agree that most of the effort should be put into organizing a tournament structure etc.

Personally, I consider Academy as small expansions / boosters for Arena - so my impression is quite contrary to yours  8)

Website Support and Feedback / Forum time correct ?
« on: March 31, 2016, 01:00:34 PM »
Pretty stupid question and rather irrelevant probably but I was scheduling games for the ADMW tourney and I wondered if referring to forum time might be nice but now am in doubt if the forum was affected by that EDT/EST daylight non-saving thing. Somehow my planning seems to be off since the weekend and I am simply curious.  :) 8)

What a bummer! Was looking forward to meeting you again.
Good luck with your RL stuff  :D

I sent a pm to coshade, but I need to withdraw from the tournament.
Too much in RL work etc going on for me to dedicate or schedule time for this.
Maybe next time!
Thanks guys.
