Rust - what happens when?
« on: December 21, 2014, 11:18:15 PM »
Couldn't find this so i was wondering about something.

Say the opposing mage has armor of 1. if I cast Rust on the mage does his armor go to -1 or zero?

Say my opponent has an armor of 2. I cast Rust putting him at 0 Armor. What happens if that armor is destroyed? Does the rust fall off? Does the mage go to -2 armor? do they take 2 Acid Damage and Rust falls off?

what happens if they switch armor pieces? Does Rust fall off then?

Armor can never be below zero. The enchantment Rust also doesnt fall off or deal acid damage if it would set armor below zero. Corrode markers can deal damage or fall off though.

to answer your questions:
Armor goes to zero
If the armor is destroyed, Rust stays on the target but will have no effect until they get more armor.
If they switch armor, Rust stays on.

There are some wierd interactions between rust and corrode markers though, like how revealing rust on a creature may do nothing but make it lose 2 corrode markers.

EDIT:
armor = max(0,ArmorBonuses - ArmorNegatives)
where ArmorNegatives include rust and corrode

I knew armor didn't really go to -1.

But say for example, they have 1 armor, I rust (-1), they +1 armor (via conjuration) are they back at Zero, or +1.

So theoretically that can go to negative armor.

They are at 0. The game has no memory. So value are always like if someone just came in and did the maths.

If the Armor on the creature is <=2 then the revealed [mwcard=MWSTX2FFE07]Rust[/mwcard] enchantment attached to the creature will drop its Armor down to 0.
